In celebration of UNESCO’s Declaration of the World Engineering Day (WED), the Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) partnered to organise World Engineering Day 2026: Charles Rudd Distinguished Global Lecture (WED 2026: CRDGL). This annual event aims to promote a greater appreciation of engineering, honouring the late Er. Charles Rudd. WED 2026: CRDGL provides a platform for leading engineers, innovators and thought leaders to exchange insights and ideas within the industry. This event features a three-hour hybrid lecture, drawing hundreds of local and overseas participants, with event highlights being recorded and broadcasted globally to celebrate engineering achievements. Participants had the opportunity to attend keynote speeches and panel discussions with fellow industry professionals to gain practical insights into how engineering could contribute to creating a more prosperous world. Significant proceedings included the launch of the IES 60 logo and an MOU signing between Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Siemens, witnessed by Ms. Indranee Rajah, to drive the SkillsFuture Queen Bee initiative forward.
